This is Kyle helping with the trial run.
This is the jungle shelter. It keeps you off the ground and yes, itwill hold you up if done right!
requires no tools.
You all did a great job Sunday. I hope you learned a lot. You'll each get a chance to make these and sleep in them on our camping trip. We missed those of you who weren't there and hope to see you next week. Remember, next week is the hiking trip. Please wear comfortable and cool clothes and sturdy shoes. Also, bring a bag lunch with drink. We will reschedule if it's raining.
As far as the Bible lesson, next week we are on Week 5 part 2. Please do your studies and memorize your verses. Try to remember what we learned today- set your hearts and your mind on things above.

The rabbit hole is my favorite! It's so cute! (are you supposed to say that survival skills are "cute"??)
The shelters are all good and well but I was hoping for something with a little more indoor plumbing. Maybe you can try that next time. I think I saw a diagram for it in the Boy Scout handbook.
and air conditioning. Don't forget the air conditioning.
McGyver could have made a tornado proof shelter out of a milk carton, bubble gum, and an old sock. You guys can try that next time.
McGyver was THE MAN! Good Ole Richard Dean Anderson...any guesses why I married a man named Richard who is handy with electronics and string? Hope I never need any survival skills...
